Peter’s interest in ceramics started from the age of 13 and he is still practicing his art today. All of his work is conducted at the Eltham studio where he lives with his wife Noriko, who is his inspiration.
Why does he pot? There are as many answers as there are days – suffice to say that for Peter, life is too short not to be engaging with it in a creative way. A sobering thought especially when we are in a world where creativity is not only not recognised but too often misinterpreted in actions that sadly still involve us with internecine wars. This is anathema when we reflect on the brevity of our lives.
All of Peter’s work consists of high-fired stoneware and porcelain thrown on the wheel but not necessarily ending there as is shown by some of the individual forms and the chess pieces.
